We will be going to Uganda from June 12th to the 25th to work at the Mbiriizi Advanced Primary School, put on a birthday party for the orphans AND not only finish the trip with a safari but also go to the Ziwa rhino sanctuary. (We went there last year and it was an AMAZING experience.) The total cost for the trip, including Ziwa, is only $3,975 (leaving from Newark or JFK). For that you get airfare, hotel, all land transportation, food, tips, VISA, safari and, of course, the safari and rhino sanctuary. If you are coming from outside the New York metro area there will be additional air fare or driving expense to get here. Once you get here you don’t have to spend any more money … EVERYTHING IS TAKEN CARE OF.
I am pleased to tell you that we had 102 P-7 graduates and they were some of the highest performers IN THE COUNTRY. The school, on a list of top 6,000 schools was #101. It is so exciting to think that we are able to help these children not only get an education but a top quality education. This will change their lives. This experience certainly has changed mine. I think, if you join us on a trip, it will change yours too.
And, I would be remiss if I didn’t thank Rotary District 5960 for their grant that allowed us to pay the tuition for 24 students in secondary school for a year. This was spearheaded by the North St. Paul/Maplewood/Oakdale Rotary Club, some of the nicest people you could ever hope to meet. I am so grateful to them for their support and their love.
In fact, former president Anita Jader and her friends are joining us on our Christmas trip November 6th to the 19th when we put on a Christmas party for 1,000+ children. It is quite an exciting and emotional experience.
Please join us on one of these trips …
it will change your perspective on life!
